Meet Our Partners | Lukasiewicz – IMN

My name is Katarzyna Klejnowska, I am a PhD in power engineering and all my activities have always been focused on sustainability. I am a Leader of Metallurgical Processes and Energy Modelling Research Group in Lukasiewicz – IMN. In WEEENet9 project I am involved in the coordination of our activities and making sure that the completed outputs are delivered on time.
Our company – Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals – is a part of Lukasiewicz Research Network, one of the largest research networks in Europe, which consists of 22 Institutes located in 12 cities across Poland. Lukasiewicz – IMN is a research centre of the Polish non-ferrous industry. Complex activities cover all stages of metallic materials production: from ore treatment to technologies for production of modern product meeting all environmental standards.
I work in the Centre of Metallurgy, which is involved in the comprehensive processing of WEEE scrap, from the development of methods and technologies directly dedicated to the recovery of metals from WEEE scrap through to the development of methods for their management in other industrial processes. With our highly qualified scientific staff and extensive equipment, we are able to perform work ranging from laboratory scale, through pilot tests, to implementation work at the client’s site.
In the project our activities are focused on an outreach strategy, working closely together with the industrial partners to better adapt the project’s dissemination strategy towards recyclers and other industrial target stakeholders, organization of a training seminar and matchmaking event, providing input and feedback for the blueprint, organizing the national commercialization networking campaign, providing input for business support resources and feedback on the strategic plan for project continuation and providing input on national policies, organizing the national campaign for engaging Public Authorities and draft the campaign brief.
