This document describes and analyses the WEEE recovery markets in the RIS countries,
with a focus on the existing collection networks and the WEEE technological solutions already
implemented in those.
The report includes information such as:
a) sources, volume, and types of WEEE products collected, treated, and recovered officially, as well
as WEEE circulation in unauthorised/illegal markets (estimation),
b) collection systems (e.g., collective, and individual systems based on extended producer
responsibility, municipal systems, door-to-door collection),
c) existing WEEE treatment and recovery infrastructures and their performance,
d) market distortions, barriers to expand and improve it, and
e) regulatory considerations pertinent to WEEE recycling.
